The guitar can be broken up into 5 main positions, and each arpeggio corresponds to one of these positions based on its nearest related chord voicing. By learning the arpeggios in the context of their position and the surrounding chord voicings, you will start to visualize the arpeggios you practice naturally and then be able to access them in your improvisation more easily.
Even though we can shift keys easily on the guitar by moving up and down frets, each key still feels differently on the guitar and lends itself to different fingering.
